The dates for the 2015 San Diego County Fair are June 5 through July 5.
NOW is the time we choose our top three photographs, and then ONE will be chosen to print and enter into the contest. Each student of mine is eligible to enter one image and CTE is generously paying the submission fee.
Put your top THREE in order of preference in the 01-01-2015 Del Mar Fair folder for me to look through.

The categories that you may choose from are:
MONOCHROME IMAGES - Division 4700
Any subject. Prints may be a traditional photographic print or a high - quality digital print. The digital print must be straight print using only techniques which replicate what is possible in a traditional darkroom, such as burning, dodging, contrast control, etc.
COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY- Division 4701
Any subject. Prints may be a traditional photographic print or a high - quality digital print. The digital print must be straight print using only techniques which replicate what is possible in a traditional darkroom, such as burning, dodging, contrast control, etc. Commercial processing acceptable.
CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY - Division 4702
Black - and - white or color images that have been altered to create an artistic or unique photographic interpretation. No presentation requirements.
SAN DIEGO COUNTY LIFESTYLES - Division 4703
Black - and - white or color images that reflect the lifestyle of San Diego County.
FAIR THEME, “A Fair To Remember” - Division 4704
Photographs of any activities reflecting the theme “A Fair To Remember: Celebration of World's Fairs and Balboa Park.” May be any artistic style, realistic or creative interpretation.
PHOTO RETOUCHING/BEFORE & AFTER - Division 4705
Digital retouching of images to improve or enhance the quality or objective of the original image. Entry must be accompanied by a print of the original un-retouched image. No presentation requirements.
PHOTO RESTORATION - Division 4706
Digital restoration of old or damaged photographs. Entry must be accompanied by a print of the original un-retouched image. No presentation requirements.
PANORAMIC IMAGES - Division 4707
Panoramas or collages created with photomerge stitching. Three or more images, color or monochrome that have been blended to create a panoramic photograph with elongated fields of view. Digital images will not exceed 22 inches on the longest dimensions. No presentation requirements.
PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY - Division 4708
Any approach to portrait photography or portraiture which shows the personality and likeness as well as the mood of the subject. These include Candid, Posed, Forma, Couple, Small Group or others. The images can be monotone or color.
CELL PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY - Division 4709
Any image captured with a cell phone is eligible to be entered. The digital print must be straight print using only techniques which replicate what is possible in a traditional darkroom, such as burning, dodging, contrast control, etc. Mounted on a 16” x 20” matte board, 8” x 10” pint size for the image.
ENVIRONMENTAL PORTRAIT –Divisions 4710
An environmental portrait is a portrait executed in the subject's usual environment, such as in their home or workplace, and typically illuminates the subject's life and surroundings. The images can be monotone or color.
PHOTOJOURNALISM
Type or print the following information on a 3” x 5” card: entrant name; publication and publication date; title of print and cutline (caption). Attach card to the back of board.
SPORTS/ACTION/NEWS - Division 4711
News or sports photography used for newspaper, yearbook, internet or magazine publications. Mount on black mounting board only.
PHOTO ESSAY - Division 4712
A strong thematic grouping to illustrate, make a statement or tell a specific story. Photos may be in black and white and/or color. Must include not fewer than 4, or more than 10 prints. Indicate the order in which they are to be viewed. Photo essay grouping is considered one entry. No presentation limitations.
NEW! AERIAL VIEW PHOTOGRAPHY - Division 4713
Aerial photography is the taking of photographs of the ground from an elevated position. Platforms for aerial photography can be aircraft or remote controlled platforms. Mounted cameras may be triggered remotely or automatically. Must be student work.
