I am so proud to announce that two of Rancho's very own, Vanessa Perez and Tristan Roberts, were two of the five winners of a $1000 scholarship from the Education For All statewide photo contest! Below are their beautiful photographs and poignant essays. I am so happy for them!
What is Education? Education is an opportunity to become whoever you want to be in life. There are so many doors to go through, it just takes effort to know which one you want to go through. The important key to choosing a career is to not have limits, strive for what you desire. We have to realize that education is a privilege not everyone one in the world has access to. That’s why we the people who do have the access to an education should take advantage of it. No more “I can’t do it, I give up!” It’s time to get up and express out the person you want to be. The reason why I chose this photograph was because the girl is ready to become the person she dreams of being, no matter if it’s a mathematician, an artist or both. She is prepared to climb all the way to the top of the mountain and become the person she’s always dreamed of being.
As you can see in the photo, four students are in the library and all of them are gaining knowledge from books. The students are in a group collaborating together so they can further themselves in life. By doing this they will give themselves a upper hand in the average school body. By helping each other they can benefit from the other students knowledge and mistakes. Collaboration is a key asset and part of the lives of students.
