Color, with it’s many tints and shades, can express so much visually. Common expressions that are used to depict a mood or perhaps how we feel our life is going are…”A bright future” or “a dark rain cloud over my head.”
Your assignment is to design a self-expression/self-portrait composition. In 50 to 100 words, describe your overall mood in life. Relate it to your favorite color or the color you feel best describes your feelings.
Example of written expression (essay):
…I am sunshine yellow…I feel happy most of the time…like a yellow bird that sings in a tree of flowers. I like my yellow/orange striped beach chair. It is bright and makes me think of fun summer days…but sometimes…that same yellow is radiant…like a fireball in a dramatic sunset. All yellows, reds and oranges lighting up the sky. This is how I feel when I see injustice…when I see what is happening in our world…like I want to scream…STOP WAR…STOP CRIME…STOP HATE...
Your Assignment must include:
- Title (Header) “I am…” or “My color is…”(Ex. “My color is Aqua Blue” or “I am sunshine yellow”, etc.)
- The color wheel or a color chart with the primary and secondary colors. This can be done in many creative ways. (Refer to samples shown in class.)
- A picture of yourself
