Scholastic Art & Writing Awards: Due December 17- Teens in grades 7 through 12 can apply in 28 categories of art and writing for the chance to earn scholarships and have their works exhibited or published. Panelists look for works that best exemplify originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal voice or vision. More than $250,000 is given annually through the Scholastic Awards program in awards and scholarships to top winners and their educators. In addition, more than $8 million in scholarships is set aside each year by our partners for recipients of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. ($5/per entry)
Education For All Contest: Deadline February 27, 2015- The three winners of the Education For All Contest will each be awarded a $1000 education award for their digital photos conveying, in an educational setting, these three central themes: Diversity, Collaboration, and Achievement. In addition to submitting their photograph, student artists must include a statement of 200 words or less describing how their submission speaks to the messages of diversity, collaboration and/or achievement in an educational setting. Open to high school juniors and seniors.
Photo District News Photo Contest: Deadline December 7- CATEGORY, PRECOLLEGE—ANY SUBJECT OK, you're making the grade, you've got what it takes. If you're a high school student and a budding shutterbug, show us your shots from any of the categories and prove it. (fashion/portraiture, documentary/photojournalism, still life, travel/landscape, fine art/personal) Don't worry, you'll be judged against your peers. ($12/entry)

- Natural photos are those that involve everyday situations that may demonstrate a variety of physics concepts.
- Contrived photos are those that are set up to show a particular physics concept or related set of concepts.
- Photos with Multiple Images or other computer manipulation will be placed in a separate category. They may be displayed at the national meeting and judged for Special Recognition ribbons, but not for prizes.

Scholarships
- Don Diego Scholarship: The Exhibitor scholarship requires that applicants have participated (prior to the applying year) in a competitive exhibit department [for example: Student Showcase, Student Landscape, Kids' Best, Equestrian events, etc.] at the San Diego County Fair, the Del Mar National Horse Show or other equestrian events at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and/or Horsepark.
