It’s a bright yet gloomy day in the town of Oceanside. With the clouds covering the plain day sky the sun, beaming in radiance, shines on Charle’s face as he begins awakening. “Wow, how is it already 1 in the afternoon ?!” He says struggling to get out of bed. “This book stuff is getting a little out of hand, like I swear I never get the amount of sleep I used to have. All I am is stressed” he speaks to himself as he slides into his casual clothing. Charles, age 19, just graduated highschool and is now bound to do whatever he wants, he begins to explore becoming a writer and has been struggling to find a true story to write about. “Just stres-” he gets interrupted by his ecstatic mother. “Honey you finally are awake, oh yeah by the way pick up your brother Weisel at school he gets out at 3:00”. “He keeps talking about going to this bridge out by San Luis Rey, says that there is some mystical power that grants wishes but it's all bull-hockey, he seems so excited about the idea that I didn’t want to say anything.” As Charles is sitting with a glass of orange juice, pouring his bowl of Mini Wheats cereal he pauses and thinks to himself “Maybe this is my story, maybe this is just what I am looking for, I mean yeah sure I would probably look insane but I've seen people claim worse.” coming back from his thoughts he says “Ok Mom, love you !” , as he walks back into his room. Right away without the break of a sweat, Charles begins to research more about this mysterious bridge on his computer. “Demonic entities, tentacle squid monsters, grant magical wishes, yeah yeah yeah whatever I need something that acts as factual evidence. As he digs he stumbles upon a historian page about the bridge itself. “ Nicknamed the Magic Yang bridge, huh” “ Says here it was built all the way back in the 60’s... wait, over a burial site? An Indian one too. Maybe it's a little disrespectful to build a bridge there.” He reads that the burial site was also home to demonic cults that resided in the area for more than 20 years in the 80’s ! Until federal law enforcement came into play of course. “ Hm, maybe I actually have found my evidence” (Flashback 10 years earlier) *It’s a sunny morning as Charles and his father are on a drive against the beach view* “Dad tell me the story again, please I swear I won't go crazy about it again and bug you, that’s why I have Marvel.” says younger Charles, pleading with his dad. “ “Alright, once upon a time there was a great prosperous man, that was me, that found a magical bridge that could grant any wish, I went to this bridge to make my wish. I wished for an unlimited amount of comic books just so you could have them. Instead, I battle this evil monster and I win, the end.” as his dad ends the story. “Kind of a lame ending” young Charles thinks to himself. (10 years later, back to present time) “ I miss him everyday, I always used to fantasize about this bridge and if it was real, he always made it apparent that it was even with the scars he got. I need to know it's real. Ever since that one day he left to go find our runaway dog there he just went missing. It's not a coincidence I must go.” “And I’ll be back to get Weisel in no time” As he starts up his car and drives to this location. As he gets out, an ominous wind blows against him. As he looks out to the view of the dark yet clear-looking water he says, “I wish that my father could be here to see me now”. All you hear next is a long, faint scream.
It’s past 3:00 close to 4:15, Weisel casually leaning up against the wall in his regular monochromatic outfit. “ Where is Charles? I'm going to be late for my modeling shoot. And my date! How are you going to leave your Junior grade brother alone at school? Whatever, at least today I look good for Mary. If I even see her.” As he sits his mother pulls up besides him. “ We have to talk” As they are driving back home, mom says “ Have you seen your brother?” “No” says Charles “And honestly I don’t care” . “Watch your attitude, your brother might be missing and the last place he went was that damn bridge. I never liked that place and ever since your father wen-, anyway a couple of his friends and a police officer went to investigate the location.” “ Oh the magical bridge you mean, we literally live 7 minutes away from it I don't think he got to lost but may I go to see?” asks Charles with his mom bluntly saying “No”. “I can’t lose you too” thinking to herself. The intrigue about this bridge has always been there, it is a town legend, so of course Weisel hops out the window of his room in broad evening so he can “ Become the hero like Iron Man, or Captain America, both why not.” with a shot of him running towards the sunset. *Back to the bridge* A group of 5, all best-friends of Charles go to investigate. Two of the group were jocks, and had very boastful personalities especially being star basketball players for the school. “Let's make a wish” says James, making fun of the legend “ It is not real something like this is just impossible.” Besides him, Sammy says “No it's not, I don't care what you say, my father came here and made a wish for me to be born, now look, I'm here.” “ What a stupid wish” James tells Sammy antagonizing him. They both begin to fight and yell at each other, acting as though they were in a boxing match. As the rest of the group walks by they hear the commotion, they notify the police officer through a radio that maybe they found something. As they run back to the other two, the cop slowly but surely following behind them, they find the front of the bridge to see that there is no one. Absolute silence. All you can hear is leaves rustling with the wind blowing against the dirt. Danny states “ What the hell, something definitely got them. It's- It's like I feel something, like a presence, it feels evil too.” with him trembling yet keeping a composure. “AAH” is all that is echoed and heard through the dense ominous forest, with all just appearing as a faint sound.
As Weisel arrives and walks into the forest he notices a police cap and radio on the ground, with blood trailing to what looked like a body. “Oh my god-” Weisel says before even saying anything else, he looks at the sight of the mutilated police officer, “What in the hell”. He then begins to walk into sight of the bridge, empty with no trace of life in sight. He looks to the left to a dirty bench, “It's Charles’ phone!” “Why is it shattered?, why is there literally no one else here and a DEAD COP” he paces talking to himself. “ I think I'm going to throw up”. The mother is drastically driving over 50 on a 40 mph zone, trying to get to forest as fast as she can, pulling up eventually on her next turn. “Ok, we're here, now to find my boys.” as she begins to load up a shotgun hidden under the driver’s seat. As Weisel finishes puking, he looks up to see a silhouette of a little boy. “It’s Charles?!” yells Weisel. “Am I hallucinating?” he then thinks to himself. “Run” says Charles, “just please run and tell mom to stop coming for me” As Weisel begins to process everything an evil laughter is heard, with then the mysterious creature's tentacle begins to grab Weisel’s feet and rips them off! Then carrying the corpse of Weisel into the beneath of the bridge. The mother, just coming too late, sees the sight of her son, torn to bits. Her legs turn to jelly, not even being able to stand. “I was too late, I failed.” as she sobs, having lost everything for herself. She sees her older son’s, Charles’ phone, smashed up into bits and cracks. “Why?” she ponders. “Why did this have to happen? This should not be real. I just wished for us to always be together, as a family.” As she continues crying, she sees a white ghostly figure in front of her, and says “ Its okay mom, it's your turn next, wishes do come true.” It's Charles.
